Gerald N. Callahan is a professor of immunology and public�understanding�of science at Colorado State University with joint appointments in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology and�the�Department�of English. Robin M. Yates is associate professor in the Departments of Comparative Biology and Experimental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Calgary.

Solid Overview of Immunology

I thoroughly enjoyed this textbook. I know that seems weird, but it was a very easy read that contained a solid overview of immunology. It's effectiveness will depend heavily on the level of knowledge needed in your course, but if it is a basic overview you are looking for -- this is the textbook for you. It is easy to follow and I would highly recommend it for a vet student who is taking a basic immunology course, a vet looking to brush up on their immunology, or a lay person looking for a good overview of the subject. It is worth noting that while this is a veterinary immunology textbook, it will carry over to humans as well...if you're into that kind of thing.
